8020 Wins Two Folio Magazine Awards

Posted by Christi Ginger on 24 September 2007 (8020 Publishing)

Last night at the Folio Magazine Awards Show, 8020 Publishing picked up two awards! The Folio Awards honor the best in editorial content and magazine design--sort of a Grammys for magazines.

JPG Magazine was selected as the Gold Winner for best magazine in the Consumer: Enthusiast Art Hobbies Crafts Etc. category. Jpgmag.com was honored as the Bronze Award Winner in the Best Online Community category.

This year a panel of 100 judges considered 3,000 entries from around the globe. There were some great magazines up for awards so we are really thrilled and honored to be selected.

Thanks to the great JPG community out there that makes this magazine so fantastic!

Everywhere Magazine Announced at TechCrunch40

Posted by Christi Ginger on 24 September 2007 (Everywhere News)

8020 Publishing was at TechCrunch40 last week to announce the launch of Everywhere Magazine, a community-powered travel magazine that will showcase the experiences and stories of travelers from around the globe. TechCrunch40 is a conference where selected startups announce, present, and demo their new products. We were thrilled to be one of 40 companies (out of over 700) invited to participate this year.

We presented Everywhere Magazine during the Community and Collaboration Panel and gave a sneak-peak of the upcoming website. Like JPG Magazine, Everywhere is driven by the unique and authentic voice of the online community. We got a ton of great questions about the future of print magazines and were able to point to the JPG community as an example of how a community-powered approach to content can make a great magazine.
